Core Topics We Cover
The curriculum focuses on practical interpretation rather than theoretical frameworks. Each module includes case studies from retail, manufacturing, and service businesses operating in Australia.
Reading Balance Sheets
Understanding asset composition, liability structures, and equity positions. You'll learn what healthy vs. concerning patterns look like across different industry types.
Cash Flow Analysis
Tracking how money moves through operations, investments, and financing. We focus on identifying warning signs that profit figures might not tell you about.
Ratio Interpretation
Calculating and understanding liquidity, profitability, and efficiency ratios. More importantly, knowing when these metrics matter and when they don't in specific contexts.
Income Statement Patterns
Spotting revenue quality, cost structure changes, and margin trends. We use examples from businesses that have gone through growth phases and challenging periods.
Comparative Analysis
Benchmarking against competitors and industry standards. You'll practice presenting findings to non-financial stakeholders in clear language.
Red Flag Detection
Recognizing signs of financial stress or creative accounting. Based on real cases where early detection made a difference in business decisions.
